School Closure Work- Physical Education & Health and Social Care

Year Group

Work to do

Core PE

Years 7-11

In the student shared area (accessible on KEYS, Student shared area, Subjects, Physical Education and Health and Social Care, Core PE) you will find a document with a number of Youtube videos associated with home workouts. During this difficult time if you could all manage to complete a workout every time you have your PE lesson on your school time. The home workouts do not require any equipment, therefore, all you will require is a small but safe area of space. Give it a go and let us know how you get on when you return! In addition to the workouts, you will find a ‘Core PE fitness booklet’ which has home workouts and instructions for you to design and complete. Good luck.

PE Department

GCSE PE Year 9

Each Monday morning, the PE department will send out google classroom activities which contain work for the week. Pupils should be spending the two hours of classroom time completing these tasks.  Work should be returned on google classroom for me to track, ensure work is completed and to give feedback if required.

Additionally, in the student shared area (accessible on KEYS, Student shared area, Subjects, Physical Education and Health and Social Care, GCSE, Year 9) you will find all lessons for paper 1. We have also shared topic tests for each unit. You should be revising these and researching around the topics. There are exam questions and assessed pieces of work task to do on these PowerPoints and I would encourage you to look at one topic a week which includes; Respiratory system, cardiovascular system, muscular system, skeletal system, movement analysis, effects of exercise, components of fitness, principles of training, optimising training and risk and injury.

If you have any questions or need extra resources, please email me on s.butler@bishopwalsh.net
